About the Meeting
|
Friday, March 14
|
The morning will begin with Regional Breakfasts for all.
Robust programming is planned for both ATLS Coordinators and Educators throughout the day, with an emphasis on Trauma Education updates and preparing for ATLS 11.
Concurrently, this year’s COT Special Session, “A Bias for Action: Preparing the US Health Care System for Large-Scale Combat Operations (LSCO),” will feature a dynamic panel on US preparedness. The session includes a guest speaker from Ukraine, sharing critical insights on transitioning hospitals to handle severe trauma during combat. This global perspective will resonate with attendees and set the stage for the afternoon educational session following the networking lunch.
The afternoon will feature three panels under the theme “Improving Trauma Systems During Challenging Times.” Presenters from the US/CAN regions and Regions 14-17 will explore diverse approaches to prehospital care, trauma system funding, and the benefits of responsive systems for both civilian and combat injuries. This global exchange of ideas will foster mutual learning and elevate trauma care by addressing shared challenges and innovations across countries.
